YAM Band ->> Had a 2.5hr practice/rehersal in GTPJ’s Maranatha hall last nite. Sounding kinda tight now. With only 1 or 2 practices to go, things r really comin’ along.With over 24+ songs in the head spinning like a cd.
YAN9 Band ->> Final rehersal this saturday! Getting’ a pro sound man –Remy Loh to do sound for us. *shouts & jumps for joy*. He still remembers me..suprisingly..up to the point of where I work & so on. Buck up YAN9 band..Let’s give more than our best this time around.

just got news from the "council" (star wars fever..hehe).. that the total registered guests for Chill OuT 2 tis weekend currently stands at *drumrolls*…..187 ppl as at NOW ! Thats like sooooo awesome..Imagine nearly 200 young people comin together for this BBQ-evangelistic event! The most successful (by numbers) evangelistic youth event so far. Am done wif the video edits for the worship session of Chill OuT as well as the Guess the Celebrity ice-breakers wif lotsa help from Jon. Great work,bro! Not gonna elaborate further..do come for this cool event wif lotsa fun & food at TOW, Seremban tis Sunday from 5pm onwards.
not that i like or am a fan of Star Wars ..but just to join the crowd in the craze. Kinda disappointed wit the efx and wateva tech their using to do the movie..coz i feel that the First Episode bck in `99 was way betta in terms of graphics. but then i might be wrong. Joined my good ol’ buddies for the movie on Saturday nite till wee hours in the morning. Got church svc the next day somemore. Tks to the tea..cant get myself to knock off even at 4am!
practice for YAN9 went pretty well except for some gruesome discovery that CK still cant get the groove for "I Am Free"…Kevin drove us up to GTPJ together wif Isaac,Joseph and CK for YAM practice from 6 (supposed to start at 5:30) till 10…head to ‘the Curve’s’ Halo Cafe for some food and entertainment after that. good place to chill for those who love mandarin pop as there were 3 vocalist and 1 of them double up as a guitarist (acoustic) in which they take request of songs by diners and sing wateva they could. These 3 fellas could sing almost every mandarin tune under the sun..even Ronan’s -When u say nothing at all …>which sounds so pathetic i thought it was a mandarin version. Same happened to Eric Clapton’s -Wonderful Tonight. Some joker diners even requested Linkin’ Park’s -Somewhere I Belong… wat a joke!

ok..ok..so the previous posting was way too long. Cant’ help coz too much things to say and suddenly filled with inspiration to blog. Currently enjoyin’ getting online on the new DELL lap baby. Doesnt really like its keyz layout which is kinda flat compared to the usual angled keyboard.
So..Was called for audition for levites yesterday nite at church. Given some drum beats/loops which comprises of 2,4,8 and 16 beats which we are supposed to jam along with. Backups, drummers,bassist, guitarist, pianist & keyboardist are being tested using the same loops. When my turn came, I wuz goin like !@##$%%! chords! But nvm lar..just shoot. *phew*..managed to get through. Doesnt mean I passed though.
Then came the Q&A session where questions which I have in mind for ages are being let out. Stuff like benchmark, commitments etc are being discussed. As usual, the "grand-old-person" of Levites ministry… none other than >> *uh-uh* not tellin << got only 1 old/senior fella..so go figure lar. And yeah, as we were goin through the question that i have regarding benchmark wif standards to follow, I was being shot at on area of "TOW style" vs. Album/Recording style. Clearly I was talking bout techinical aspects of a song. What is the purpose of a w.leader or a band when we’re gonna be dragged by the congregation to sing a song super draggy.. Darn! *Frust*…Thats not all..then came the questions of commitment.
BEING AT CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY AT 6:30AM AND PLAYING RUBBISH IS NOT A COMMITMENT !!! especially when one claims to have been serving in the same ministry for the past 20 years! That ONE person must be taking God for a ride somehow. The same person mentioned that the "free time to practice" for youths are more than adults. Easy, i said,… thats why DON’T COMMIT laRR ! If u think there’s not enuff time to practice and listen to songs…and sinking the whole band by playing rubbish …after 20yrs..*konon* ! Turned to be a bit of a heated discussion especially if u have like all the people against that one "grand-old-daddy" levite..who’s NOT inching a step away from the ministry. Thanks to CK who kept backing me up throughout..
Its Friday!! and here we are…the weekend! ..YeSSSSS ! The rush for practices starts AGAIN.. *gosh*.. havent been practicing YAM songs tis week.. Monday is a Public Holiday though. Enjoy! Much looney as usual for the weekend.
Havent been blogging lately..coz i had been really busy from last saturday till today…and obviosuly lots happened. There was Friday nite when my "gig" at church turned sour.. The band is technically (and spiritually) prepared for "Still" when "Chris Almighty" sets in..complaining that "Still" should be sang Slllllllooooowww …he grumbled that to the whole congregation!! DAmmit !! Wuz so frust i kept banging on the keyz of Triton.. Of course he knows am pissed. Even the youths are laughing over his actions. He’s expecting us to sing "Still" at bout 58bpm..wat the heck ?? That kinda tempo would even bore the death in a funeral service.. Errrghhh ! Thank god there’s Aunty Khoo who’s soooooo lovingly kind to invite a few of us to a really fulfilling supper later on. Lepak-ed till 2am.
Went early on Saturday morning to watch & mix for ‘Junior Band’ practice which i think is gettin’ betta by the day..*wink*.. wif girl backups being taught how to do parts and stuff.. Happy for their progress so far. Had some fun during main band wif Jason leading for the first time wif assistance from Leo … couldnt seem 2get any sound right on the el-cheapo PSR keyz for any song at all…"Running After You" sounded like a syphony/orchestra for its intro..Was laughing d whole time during the praise & worship. While the best sound i did for "All DaY" sounded like some snippets off childrens cartoon series.. errrghh.. thank God at least the piano during the climax of the worship saved the day wif usual ear tearing leads from YAN9 guitarist himself..hehe.. *applause*.. finally came the grand finale on Come to praise where there’s much crowd interaction and particapation. All in all ..fun !.. Now this is wat JCG’s all about.. =)
Panicked like crazy on Saturday nite for there’s YAM practice the next day.. gotta run through all the songs..and its ady 11pm ..Thank god managed to familiarize wif the tough ones.. Then came Sunday..had another interesting class for "Building Strong & Stable Youths" courtesy of Ps.Marianne.Attendance was overwhelming..wif the hall packed to the brim. Had an interesting sermon from ALex Sanders and gang..none other than Ryan Landis and his wife Rachel who’s gonna tie the knot *wedding bells* on the 28th May.. The sermon for the day was ‘kutuk-ing’ the old generation not making way for the youths to take over.. HA ! THat was much needed in the case of TOW.. Had a really dramatic service that morning wif Ps. Alex getting the whole congregation to a really upbeat atmosphere…there were shouts.., blowing of "horn" or wateva u call that thing the pastor blows..that looks like a horn..As usual, the poor JBL’s speakers had to endure the clippings from the mics and instruments due to lousy mixing…U would LOVE to see how BLACK "Chris-Almighty’s" face was.. hehehhee…He even asked the congregation whehter did they went deaf after the service. HUH ! Talk bout conservativeNESS..
Anyway, rushed off to Agape for YAN9 practice where finally the whole team’s around this time. Wif only 2 practices left..things gotta really progress fast and effectively. If u think that rushing up to 4pm is hectic..there’s more.. flew straight to GTPJ for practice at 5:30.. *gosh* i was still in sban at 5pm.. buying myself a Cornetto before hitting the highway..hehe.. Took the wrong turn in PJ and thank god i still managed to get my @$$ to GTPJ at 5:50pm.. fast, huh..DId a whole straight practice till 9:30 wf 2 breaks in between. Coolness. Was like jamming along wif a cd or sumthin..the drummer and bassist for tight like mad. Even that still needs plenty of polishing on the timing and parts. Went for some fellowship wif the band at the place where they serve reallllly yummy "Turkey-Nan" at Tmn Megah (which costed 7bucks, ..mind u..its a roadside mamak operated by CHINESE !! ) before heading home and looking like a zombie.
Went to work at noon the next day.. feelin kinda sick in the throat and stayed back at the club till 7pm due to some error in program updates by my software consultant.DARN!
Thought i was another ordinary nite when as i was halfway replying my "meimei" .. my QD died on me once again!! i was goin like "WAT THE HECK IS WRONG WIF THIS THING" ??? Its the 2nd time since February tis yr.The last thing i knew was that it prompted a Messaging:System Error message and that was it. It shuts off.. Damn ! Cant even get it to boot up pass the Nokia logo… Good thing i hv already backed up the contacts tis time around. Got so panicked, and was cursing the phone in and out. Got so pissed.. and browsed through some other Symbian series phones which i have in mind and plan to get rid of the QD A.S.A.P !!! Packed the whole damn thing in its original box wif charger, handsfree and wateva that came wit it. Plan to sell it off the next day. So much for "SmartPhones"
Tuesday came..and am walking around my workplace proudly holding the Nokia 3315 on one hand and another in my pocket..Of all the days…sooo many calls and SMS has to come and worst thing..i dunno who the heck is calling me nor messaging me..coz my contact ARE ALL IN THE PHONE MEMORY OF MY QD!!! talk bout Frust !!! cant wait to get rid of the QD once i get it formatted. Was in total anticipation for the Nokia 6670 to come into my hands..but i still have doubts bout buying it and forking out at least 1k for the "brick". Went galavanting at T1 after work wif Sirion to format my sick QD and brought it bck to life within 10mins. Got a reaaalllly irresistible offer for my QD !.. RM 480..but darn..still have to pay 1k for the 6670.. sigh..See how it goes lar.. the 6670 design doesnt really impress me in any way..still kinda like the "cool" factor of the QD… but HOW COULD U TRUST A PHONE WHICH WOULD JUST DIE ON YOU???? Which is why I’m officially launching a strike against Nokia and its sick Symbian OS. (if not for the bible thingy in the phone)…errghh!
The high point of the day was the arrival of the new baby ..>DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop coated in chic silver body.. Finally!!! Its here..! So sleek..coupled wif "wide-screen"…awww..wat a sight. Looks like an iMac wif really cool blue lightings in the background for the external installed multimedia controls ..eg volume, play, stop etc… Cool ! Have to cut this long crap right about here to continue working on the new DELL baby to install some software on it… Ciaaoozz..Enuff of frust vented out through this blog…*Phew* wat a relieve that everything’s back in place now….Now…why’s the DELL hibernating so often…hmmmmmm …….
sorry..guys. totally nothing to blog about. things are goin on a routine basis. day in-day out. Cant wait for June to come where there’s chance to meet up all the wonderful youths of the YA forum, those from other churches like COP, GTPJ and a few others (u guys rocks!!) during the conference. Awesome! There’ll be so much to catching up to do..Anyway, it’s still somewhere mid-May now..sigh..
Nothin incredible is showing in the cinemas’ tis week. No activities at all, besides 2 consecutive nites of keyboardin’ on thurs and fri nite at church. Playin’ stuff down memory lane..*u know wat i mean..* nth of the latest.
Only lookin’ 4ward to tis saturday where Jason is gonna w.lead for the JCG. Wonders how it’ll go. Finally Sunday’s when the full band of YAN9’s gonna come together for practice at Agape. More updates comin’ soon!
Oh yeah..! so happy that Junie (my long time net sweetheart since `99 ) is throwing a birthday party this year sometime in June to celebrate her 17th birthday. The last time v met up was in 2002 if am not mistaken..hehe..It’s been a longgg while…

‘ off the silver screen for bout a 2weeks or so now…finally decided to go watch xXx2 wif’ my buddies last nite. Of all the days, the skies had to open up the floodgates and pour down sooooo heavily in the evening just b4 i get outta my home. It didnt matter anyway, as i wuz really hungry then.
Fetched pei ling from one corner of the world and went for dinner in another. Had a fun time yakking away during dinner bout our upcoming outings, her studies etc…while those really addictive "wah-lai-toi" programs are playing on TV….in a "WESTERN" food restaurant!! ??…. *strange*. while i’m still guessing who’s tis "Friend" CK is bringing to the movie besides Jonathan, i couldnt b any more suprised to see Pui Ling when we met up juz b4 the movie at the entrance. *how much would sparks fly tis time around* hehe.. kinda enjoyed the movie throughout but i think the storyline kinda flopped some way or another. had some noisy ppl sitting at the bck of us wif constant goin in and out of the seat, changing place, talking on the phone…errgghh! Was sending pei ling a.k.a kecik (tiny) bck when v chatted more. The journey bck to another corner of town to send her home felt closer to home as i wuz enjoying the whole 15mins drive and bck with her. So glad to have her company last nite.
Reached home in a jovial mood, wif bro talkin’ bout sarah and amanda ..AGAIN! and how they reacted over my age. *gosh* does he really HAVE to reveal when people’s not asking???.. Thought wanna practice a bit after getting online awhile but felt too lazy and tired then…
saw daylight only at 11am.. had breakfast at 1pm !!!… went on MSN..suprisingly very little webbers are around..hmm…wonders**..with Syen already watching ‘XXX 2′ in the cinemas..when i havent even brush my teeth. "Still" by Hillsongs was still playing in my head since last nite. Tried it out on my Motif..and decided to do it during Heal The Nation concerts as well….*ooopss..songs for the concert are confidential….aikks*..
off to PD at 2 to visit my aunts when i came across this road heading towards PD which looks like its undergoing some BIG transformation works which looks like those in Subang/Sunway area..huge flyovers & roundabouts.. since when Seremban have those ??.. Hang out for an hour or so at my aunts place b4 goin to check out Isaac’s brand new "fusion" drum set with the tempting Red wine color. Eunice & Ale was stuck in front of the tv watching nickelodeon and Disney which happens to b my fav channel as well..hehe..
Cabut back to home when it started pouring …stayed in room for the rest of the nite chatting on msn, surfing and practicing on my Motif at the same time..felt like sunday the whole day…lazeee… much more awaits as the week starts on Tuesday…

Things kicked off wif YAN9 band practice which went pretty well..covering most technical areas with ease..rushed off then for food and straight to GTPJ..or so i tot..was coming from another exit on the Sban-KL highway when i saw Calvin’s car by the roadside…being a busybody that i am, i decided to pull over..* i should’ve just sped off thinkin’ he was waiting for someone*… when he told me he had a flat tyre..How bad can it be??..*looks at watch, its already 6:30pm* !! and we’re still in sban..with another 2 of our friends’ car stopping by to LOOK.. we continued our journey after helping him to change the tyre..its MAX speed all the way to GTPJ then..took the wrong turning at the fed.highway but thank God can still recognize a bit of PJ roads..hehe..reached GT at 7:40pm..amazing huh..
met up wif Syen,Joanne,Jonan,Wendy, Whye Mun and a bunch of other friends there..on our way into the hall, was handed these cute liquid-illuminating-neon- colored-glow-in-the-dark stuff where ur supposed to where it to a concert. anyway..Concert kicked off at bout 8:20 after some speech by some minister. The nite was a fun one indeed besides the sound man who screwed up things every now and then.*how can they be so stingy over Juwita’s mic volume?*..Now the drooling part..since when GTPJ’s santuary has got not 1 but 2 !!!!! brand new MOTIF ES series…both ES 8 and ES 6 !!!..*drools*..now thinkin whether i should bring my 7 there to complete the line off..haha!.. Stunning performance by all the invited artists with over 20 ppl that made their decisions on that nite. When it was all over bout 11:30, was walking around the hall area wif my friends when ppl whom i dun think i even know came up to me and says "hey..are u from HUGE?.. i like ur playing,,.. ur good on the keys,synths, piano wateva.>> I should’ve just answered NO!!>.am from Seremban..am goin like…"hv i met u b4 or do i know u"?. must’ve been campers from HUGE. nice bunch of fellow christians there..felt encouraged and pressured to do betta during Heal The Nation esp. when ur needed to play for every nite concerts and for YAN9 during the last morning.
Lots of strength and skills are needed from God this time around.Went straight back to Sban then for food !..havent eaten since evening. Reached home after chauffering everyone home .dozed off bout 3am…zzzZzzzzzzzZzzzzZZzzzzzzzzzzz………. *by the way, i dun snore*..
